Workshop Details

4-Week Program Overview

Weeks 1 and 2: Understanding Diagnosis and How Your Child’s Brain Works

  • Executive functioning challenges and how these translate into behavior at home
  • Knowing what is diagnosis vs. other behavior in order to make informed parenting decisions
  • Learning techniques to strengthen your child’s executive functioning

Week 3: Crash Course in Behavior Management

  • Learning how to analyze your child’s behavior to understand the “why”
  • Developing strategies to decrease undesired behavior and increased desired behavior
  • Empowering you to learn how your response to behavior can make it more or less likely to occur in the future

Week 4: Intensive Q & A

  • Question and answer session to dive deep into your specific concerns and personal situation
  • Feedback on how to implement the strategies learned in previous weeks
  • Strategize future support for you and your family

Meet Your Workshop Leader

Kelley Schuler, MA, LPC, BCBA

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Licensed Professional Counselor in State of Colorado
  • Over 16 years of experience in behavioral therapy
  • Therapeutic Strengths: Applied Behavior Analysis (Discrete Trial Training
    and Pivotal Response Training), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive
    Behavior Support
  • Training in evidence-based techniques including Antecedent Based
    Interventions, Visual Supports, Prompting, Functional Communication Training, Reinforcement, Parent-Implemented Instruction, Extinction,
    Picture Exchange Communication System, and many others
