A Substance Use Evaluation, also known as a drug and alcohol evaluation, or a substance abuse evaluation, is a process that takes place between an individual and a licensed counselor. The goal of the evaluation is to assess whether or not an individual’s alcohol and/or drug use is a problem and how it affects one’s life.

This evaluation is different than addiction therapy or any kind of counseling. While those services are helpful, the evaluation is meant to provide clarity to all parties interested as well as helpful treatment recommendations. Our process involves a one time 2-hr meeting with a clinician, and several questionnaires.
